The Philadelphia Public School Retired Employees Association's Pride Award was established under the leadership of past president, the late Carole A. Robbins, who chaired the committee. The committee created specific guidelines for the selection of the recipients of this special award.
The PPSREA felt the need to honor individuals who continue to work wonders in and outside of our schools. The service, dedication and commitment of these individuals have impacted many. Our organization wanted to acknowledge them and inform the community of their many accomplishments by presenting them with the Philadelphia Public School Retired Employees Association's Pride Award.
A recipient must be one whose accomplishments and/or service to humanity represents all areas of the city and makes us proud that he/she has made a difference. He/she has made some outstanding contribution to our youth, our neighborhoods, and/or to the worldwide community at-large. They should demonstrate a positive image, exemplify well-roundness outside of his/her profession and embrace and nurture the multiracial, multi-ethnic diversity of our city.
